Saturday, July 11th 2009 Palm Springs Campus hosted a very special Beginnings Go Fish! themed class. Many children and dozens of parents came to experience, touch, and explore the materials and environment of the Beginnings Mother/Toddler Montessori classroom. Fish themed songs and language objects decorated the room and were used during Circle Time and everyone joined in a fantastic acapella version of the song “1,2,3,4,5 Once I Caught A Fish Alive.” After a delightful snack where children practiced drinking from a glass, serving themselves, using a fork and putting away their own dishes neatly on the purple colored mats, everyone headed outside where an inflatable pool filled with brightly colored goldfish awaited the eager little fishermen and women! Children cackled with glee and shouted in surprise as they attempted to net the goldfish and take them home to care and tend with their parents and the Beginnings teachers watching close by. The cool water and fun day was a great way to beat the heat and learn more about the routines and methods of the Etonkids Montessori world!
