John Stadler
John has been involved in schools in many capacities: as an elected School Council member; a parent-founder of school math and chess clubs; a developer of curriculums for science and mathematics; a teacher; and a developer of educational software. His career includes founding the Parker Charter School, a leading charter high school in Massachusetts, USA; teaching middle and high school mathematics, for which he received the NBPTS Master Teacher award; as well as managing seed capital financing for educational start-ups.
As founder of the Stadler’s Education Guide, John adheres to strict conflict-of-interest guidelines prohibiting coverage of, or editing of any content related to Etonkids. He has lived in Beijing with his wife for six years, and his three children live in the US working or attending college. John graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College and received his Masters Degree (and ABD on his Ph.D.) in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Paul Epstein, Ph.D. – Internationally renowned Montessori author and trainer, and Professor of Education (USA)
Dr. Paul Epstein has worked in Montessori education as an administrator, teacher, researcher, speaker and author. He is former Head of School of the Brookview Montessori School in Michigan and current Head of Schools at the Montessori School of Anderson, South Carolina, and has taught as adjunct professor at Northwestern University. Dr. Paul is the co-author of the Montessori Way, a definitive work on the American Montessori experience.
Ann Epstein, Ph.D. – Recognized authority in Montessori and international trainer (USA)
Dr. Ann Epstein serves as an Assistant Professor at Chicago’s Roosevelt University in the Early Childhood department where she teaches several courses and leads seminars for student-teachers. She has taught in Montessori private and public school settings for 15 years and continues to work with Montessori teacher education programs in Kentucky and Florida.
Gretchen Ahlquist
Gretchen, a dedicated Montessorian, teacher-trainer, and former teacher from the USA, was Etonkids’ Academic Director in 2007-2008. She has completed graduate work in education and social work, in addition to holding a degree in English and Social Sciences. She is a MACTE on-site evaluator, and holds AMS preschool and elementary teaching credentials. Gretchen is noted for her wonderful contributions in areas of social work and tutoring.
