Written language
can be acquired more easily by children of four years
than by those of six. While children of six usually
need at least two years to learn how to write children
of four years learn this second language within a
few months.
The development of language continues, in fact, up
to the age of five years, and the mind during this
period is in a phase of activity regarding everything
that has to do with words. |

| Our
teachers encourage children to express themselves
verbally through describing, explaining, story telling, forming opinions and using their imaginations.
Initially, a phonetic system is used to teach
reading. As children gain confidence, their
skills are broadened with more complicated letter
combinations. Our sandpaper letters and moveable
alphabets are the key materials used to develop
reading and writing. Many different vocabulary cards and books are used in addressing a child's sensitive period in language skills acquisition. |
